Contractor was given the lead character in Pericles following her one year stay at the University. The audition was held for the role in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and won. In 2002, Canadian critics praised her performance during 92 performances of Pericles. She accepted the invitation to attend Stratford's conservatory, a program which allows just four men and eight women are able to take a 20 weeks crash program in classical theatre. The actor's involvement in the upcoming season's production was confirmed. She received the role in Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
